Joan Gerring, MD
Dr. Gerring received her MD from Weill Cornell Medical College. She has 42 years of professional experience, including at the Steinway Child and Family Development Center in Queens, NY, The Kennedy Kieger Institute, Sinai Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, The New York State Office of Child and Family Services, McLean Southeast in Middleboro, MA, and VINFEN in Plymouth, MA. Dr. Gerring was a Psychiatric Consultant for the US Department of Justice for 8 years.
Dr. Gerring was a Professor of Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for 30 years. She has also taught at the State University of New York School of Medicine at Syracuse.
Dr. Gerring has published countless peer-reviewed scientific articles, invited review articles, and book chapters. She has co-authored three books: Head Trauma: Educational Reintegration, The Psychiatry of Handicapped Children and Adolescents: Managing Emotional and Behavioral Problems, and Head Trauma: Strategies for Educational Reintegration.
