Mariana received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Bachelors of Science in Chemical Dependency/ Addiction studies from Rhode Island College. She then went on to complete a Master's in School Counseling, and a CGS Program in Advanced Counseling; both from Rhode Island College. Currently, she is a full-time doctoral student at William James College, and will be interning part-time at Norwood Behavioral Health.
Prior to the doctoral program, Mariana provided in-home intensive therapy as a clinical therapist to children and adolescents (5-19 years old) who were exhibiting acute behavioral disorders, mood disorders, or experiencing difficulties with medical adherence. At this agency, she received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to best support this population in the home-based setting. She has also had practicum and internship experiences in the college counseling center, public schools, and substance use/ abuse treatment centers.
Outside of school and work, Mariana enjoys being surrounded by nature, drawing and painting, and spoiling her two Pomeranians.
