Stephanie Beauvil-Smith is currently completing the doctoral internship year of her Clinical Psychology PsyD program at William James College, with an emphasis in African and Caribbean Mental Health. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in Forensic and Correctional Counseling, also from William James College. She is fluent in English and Haitian Creole.
Stephanie has 6 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families navigating concerns related to anxiety, emotional overwhelm, anger and frustration, behavioral challenges, life transitions, family stress, and experiences of trauma and adversity.
Stephanie takes an integrative, culturally responsive, and liberation-focused approach to psychotherapy. She works to understand each person within the context of their relationships, culture, identity, environment, and lived experiences rather than focusing only on symptoms or behaviors. Central to Stephanie’s work is building strong, collaborative relationships with her clients and their caregivers so everyone feels understood, respected, and supported as they work together toward meaningful, lasting change.
Outside of her professional work, Stephanie enjoys trying new cuisines, reading fiction, and spending time with her family.
Stephanie will be seeing patients under the supervision of Nancie Joyce, Psy.D.
